Dr Edor Joseph Joined CMDA Nigeria as a student from 200L and served as Class Pastor, Prayer secretary, School President, Zonal President and National President. As a Doctor, Joseph was the Director Advocacy, Public Policy and Coordinator for CMDA FCT municipal until December 2024. Participated in Planning and successful execution of the 5th and 6th JNC in Nigeria. He joined CMDA Liberia on arrival and actively participating in the LOC for the Western Regional Conference 2025.
As a Public Health Expert with 2 decades experience in leading and managing interventions for communicable and non-communicable disease (NCDs). He is the Technical Officer - Epidemiologist for Africa CDC in Liberia. Prior to joining Africa CDC, he was the Senior Program Officer II with the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs where he co-led USAID support on Global Health Security, Risk Communication & Community Engagement and Infodemic surveillance to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency and the Presidential Task Force on COVID 19 pandemic. He also worked with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Save the Children International (SCI), APIN plus, ERCC hospital etc. His professional expertise lies in strategic thinking, planning and coordination, using evidence-based research to design, monitor and evaluate interventions targeted at improving population health outcomes.
Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Jos, Nigeria, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom

Dr Courage Uhunmwangho

Dr Courage Uhunmwangho

West Africa Regional Secretary

Dr Courage Uhunmwangho joined CMDA in Nigeria as a student (then known as National Conference of Christian Medical and Dental Students - NCCMDS)  in 1995; four years later he was elected the national vice-president of the students.

As a doctor, he served as the student and junior graduates representative for ICMDA West Africa between 2006 and 2012, and has been in charge of professional development in CMDA Nigeria since 2020.

He is an elder in the Chapel of Faith, University of Jos where he leads the discipleship training committee, teaches young believers' classes, as well as overseeing the teenagers' church.

Courage is a senior lecturer in the University of Jos College of Health Sciences and a consultant rheumatologist with the Jos University Teaching Hospital. He is a fellow of both the West African College of Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians (London). He has a masters degree in clinical epidemiology and is pioneering postgraduate rheumatology training in North Central Nigeria.

He is married to Aderonke, a paediatrician, and they are blessed with four children.

AEO for Sub-Saharan Africa
Augustin was born in the DR Congo and trained as a General Surgeon in South Africa where he now lives and works. He serves as an Associate Executive Officer (AEO) for ICMDA Sub-Saharan Africa, where he promotes the mission, vision and core values of ICMDA among students and junior graduates. He was also the Congress Director for the 17th ICMDA World Congress held in Arusha, Tanzania in 2023.

Alex Bolek, is a General Practitioner (GP) with Masters in Public and Tropical Health (MPH)

He is ICMDA’s Africa Coordinator and East Africa Regional Secretary since 2017.

Alex is also the chairman of South Sudan Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA-SS)

He is on the board of a number of Christian organisations such as the Scripture Union of South Sudan (SUSS), Fellowship of Christian University Students (FOCUS), ACORD and others.

Alex has a passion for leadership development and is an alumnus of both Haggai International (HI) Leadership Institute and John Maxwell Million Leaders Mandate.

For over ten (10) years, Alex has served with both MOH and international NGOs such as Jhpiego, Healthnet TPO, St. Vincent De Paul Society in different managerial and technical roles implementing public health and humanitarian programs.

Alex has contributed to three (3) books authored by Rev. Colin Salter (UK).

He and his wife Helen founded Timothy School, a community Christian faith-based school and Rock City Medical Centre in Juba, South Sudan.
